Do we have any hardware suggest spec ?

Hi All
I have one iPrint project about 200 users, the iPrint Appliance seem only one server (could not deployment multi appliances as one tree, right ?), the official document does not provide suggest specification (CPU/RAM/HD)...
Whether I have any method or document could adjuest to let my iPrint appliance run smoothly ?

thanks all

When you setup the appliance, it defaults to the following:
4 GB memory
2 CPUs
40 GB hard drive

It asks you to create a secondary drive. The recommendation per the
docs:
https://www.novell.com/documentation/iprint-appliance-3/iprint_admin/data/b12r2lau.html
is to create a 40 GB drive. In the past I created a 60 GB drive and
found that to be a waste of space. Only 3% of it was used. So for my
latest appliance install, I created a 10 GB secondary drive and am
only using 10%. But it might be a good idea to go with the
recommended size.

I would suggest using the defaults and you should be ok. If you find
it can't keep up, its a VM, just bump the CPU or memory as needed.

Re: Do we have any hardware suggest spec ?

Hi Ken
In you prod server...How many user use iPrint to printinig ??
Because I worry the performance of iprint appliance. like 4vCPU/8GM RAM could provide 200 users normal use ?

and I find if the printer has problem like stop, the queue will keep on primary disk , not secondary disk. and the testing doc file include many picture will up to 7 or 10 original file size. so I want to modify original file size...if I have any chance to modify VM Disk size before I deploy it ??

thanks!!

Sorry for the slow response. I've been out for a few days.
I have my appliance set to 2 vCPU / 4 GB RAM. I only have 60 users,
but they print large documents (Photoshop renderings, 3D
visualization, etc.) and I have never had a problem with the appliance
keeping up. I take the viewpoint that in a virtual environment, you
might as well start with less resources. You can always add more
later if needed. You might want to give it the additional RAM, but
I'm not sure that the four vCPU will be necessary. I've never tried
modifying the appliance main drive, but I've never had a need. And we
have printers go down here also. But its never caused a problem to
use the default disk sizes.
