Event Notification Service error - Printer Notifications NWADMIN

Netware 6.5 sp4

We are having major problems trying to get ENS to work. We have verified
that everything is set up correctly, and even used a load line similar to
the following to start NDPS: LOAD NDPSM ".NDPS-MGR-NAME.OU.O"
/SETRMS=.NDPS-BROKER.OU.O /SETENS=.NDPS-BROKER.OU.O

According to the NDPS manager status screen, every printer has the correct
values for "Notification Service", "Resource Service", and "Service Registry
Service". i.e. they are all set to our one-and-only Print Broker. Yet,
when we go into NWAdmin, and bring up the properties of a printer, and the
Notifications section, we get the following error message:

"Required notification methods are not available or the printer is shut
down. Verify that the Event Notification service is enabled (with
notification methods loaded) and that the printer is running." "Message
number: 275"

Note: we have two servers clustered to a shared scsi SAN. Each Server has
a
SYS volume and the SAN has the shared VOL1. The Print Broker and Manager
are setup to use the shared SAN VOL1 and printing is working perfectly.
Also
Novell SEND MESSAGE is working correctly.

We have verified all of this, but can go no further. Any ideas????? Thank
you.

Jim

Re: Event Notification Service error - Printer NotificationsNWADMIN

Within nwadmin, manage the broker, then the Event Notification (ENS) tab.
What methods are listed in the "Methods Loaded" box???

I am able to get the same error, however when I manage the broker, I see
that there are no methods listed. You can load the methods by hitting the
load button. Then in the dialog type "ntfylog" for log file notification,
"ntfypop" for popup notification, "ntfydpop" for directed popup.

You can do a search for modules in the sys:system directory with the
extension of "ENM". This will list the available notification methods...

Re: Event Notification Service error - Printer NotificationsNWADMIN

That method you suggested as missing was/is listed (amongst others) and
loaded in the Broker ENS list.
The RMS Resource Path is set to:
ARS_CLUSTER_VOL1_POOL_SERVER\VOL1:/ndps/resdir
In ConsoleOne/NDS/ARS/MAIN/Ars_Cluster/VOL1_POOL_SERVER/properties/ the load
script is as follows:
//=================
nss /poolactivate=VOL1_POOL
mount VOL1 VOLID=254
CLUSTER CVSBIND ADD ARS_CLUSTER_VOL1_POOL_SERVER 192.168.1.206
NUDP ADD ARS_CLUSTER_VOL1_POOL_SERVER 192.168.1.206
add secondary ipaddress 192.168.1.206

NSS /Transaction=VOL1
Load BROKER .Ars_Broker.MAIN /noipx /allowdup /ipaddress=192.168.1.206
Load NDPSM .Ars_Mgr.MAIN /dbvolume=nocheck /ipaddress=192.168.1.206
HTTPBIND 192.168.1.206 /KEYFILE:"SSL CertificateIP"
//==================

Again, printing is working great and so is Novell SEND MESSAGE from the
tray. We are stumped and we need printer error notification to users. Your
help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Event Notification Service error - Printer Notifications NWADMIN - THE ANSWER

The answer was two-fold:

1. Install Netware client 4.91sp3 WITH the Novell Distributed Print
Services option
2. At the NDPS console re-sync the database
