Iprint Client Management - Workstations

I had been under the impression that using Iprint Client Management
you could install printers to "workstations" instead of "users". I dont
want to push them to because my users float to different areas and it
would then install the printer for their home area when they login, which
would result in a large amount of printers installed on machines that
really only need one.

However, While I do get the option to configure workstation groups in
client management, I cannot select workstations. It is simply not a type
that is shown on the left of Imanager (I can do Group, Organization, OU,
and User)

Am I missing something? I am using the iprintcmd right now do install them
through a zenapp, but it doesnt give the ability to only allow the
specified printer to reside on the workstation.

ICM can't be used to install printers on computers. In fact iManager
cannot be used to manage computer objects (except for basic eDir stuff
like renaming, removing etc.). iManager doesn't have zen-plugin and
computer objects are zen-objects.

Use zen iPrint policy to distribute printers to workstations. That has
ability to remove iPrint-printers that are not installed using that same
policy.

Thank you this has been very helpful. I have gotten this to work and even
distribute printer, but what is really bothering me is that I dont have
the option to "remove any install printers not listed". I find this
strange because in the screenshots I have seen from counsoleone of this
particular menu option (Iprint Policy - Settings Tab) It shows that option
there, but in my consoleone I only see "printers to be installed", "force
default" and "Internet accesssible address for printing" options. How can
I get this option in there?

Re: Iprint Client Management - Workstations

For Zenworks, (I have version 7.01) under the properties of your iPrint
Policy, click on your Novell Iprint Policy tab in the top left then choose
the "Settings" drop down. There you will see the list of printers to be
installed and an option box to check that says "Remove any installed iPrint
printer that is not included in this list of printers."
I think this is what you are looking for?

Re: Iprint Client Management - Workstations

That is exactly what I am looking for, but it is simply not there. We have
version 6.5 (sp2), and in the docs it shows it there for this version to,
but while everything else on that page is there this option is missing. If
someone has any clue why I would really appreciate it.
