LPR Communication Failed when moving printer to new IP
I recently moved a printer to a different location and doing so I had to change the IP address. But now I get a LPR Communication Failed.
LPR Communication Failed typically means the gateway process running on the server cannot communicate to the IP address specified in the gateway load string for the printer agent. If the physical printer was moved and its IP address was changed, you would need to edit the gateway load string for the corresponding printer agent. In iManager, go to the iPrint section and select Manage Printer, browse to the appropriate printer and select it, click on the Configuration tab and notice the HOSTADDRESS and make sure it is changed to match the new IP address of the moved printer.
