Microsoft patch giving problem on iPrint page

Hi,

The recent Microsoft security patches MS06-013 (Cumulative Security
Update for Internet Explorer (912812)) giving problems on the iPrint
page. Workstation that installs this patch will experience blank page
when they click the printer, no printer is install.

Please advise.

Does iPrint page come with any ActiveX control?

Thank you and best rgds
Irene

Hi,
I just compared and I have that IE patch installed as well. I can
install printers no problem at all.
Please give more information, your OS, patch level etc.

Re: Microsoft patch giving problem on iPrint page

The iPrint client does have an ActiveX control piece that is installed
during client update...

Re: Microsoft patch giving problem on iPrint page

I think I am experiencing this same problem. The issue is, when I go to our custom iPrint map and click on a printer I have installed, I should be able to see the print queue, details on the printer, print a test page, etc. Instead, what I get is a page that has the header, says "Selected Printer: ipp://<serverIP>/ipp/<printerName>", and then has white where there should be more options and information.

Looking in the lower left corner, I see a Javascript error. Here are the details:

Line: 123
Char: 4
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code: 0
URL: https://<hostname>:8009/login/ippdocs/ctrlie.htm?&operation=op-printer-list-all-jobs

Not really sure what this all means, but it just started happening to us in the last week or so, so I do believe it is related to the previously mentioned patch. Anyone else experiencing this or have ideas on how to resolve?

Note: I am able to install printers just fine, but when I go to view a printer I just installed I see the same as above. We are seeing this across multiple NetWare 6.0 SP5 servers, running iPrint Client 4.12.

Re: Microsoft patch giving problem on iPrint page

My issue is resolved, see the previous post.

I had to edit SYS:\LOGIN\IPPDOCS\CTRLIE.HTM and make the same changes as noted in TID 10100923.

Re: Microsoft patch giving problem on iPrint page

Hi,

Thank you for the reference. I have tried that resolution and restarted
my iPrint broker and manager after the changes but still getting the
blank page.

We are running on NetWare 6.5 SP1, client version is 4.9 SP2. Please
advise. Thank you
