NW6.5.8 to Linux OES2.1

Greetings,

I'm in the process of migrating my tree to SuSe Linux from netware. Currently I have iPrint installed on NW6.5SP8. I have a server setup and running SLES10.2 with OES 2.1b.

Here's the ouch i have right now. I have over 400 printers.

Please tell me there's an easy way to migrate these 400 printers to my new Linux box... Or do i have to delete and recreate them from scratch??

Thank you for any help you can provide!!!

You may want to look into upgrading this to SLES10 SP3 & OES2 SP2 first
before doing anything.

Run the migration tool, miggui, directly on the OES2 machine.

Like Joe already said, you should go for OES2SP2 and the gui migration
tool. (The migration tool already existed in OES2SP1 but at the release
of OES2SP1, it had so many bugs that it was completely unusable).
However an additional word of warning:
Do some trial migration in a test environment first. Things aren't always
smooth and with 400 printers, you want to know all the problems you may
encounter before doing the production migration and you don't want a big
number of non working printers after the migration.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the information. I did a test mig on 10 printers and im going to let them sit for 2 weeks. MIGGUI worked flawlessly. My only wish is that my ZCM policies were auto-updated as well. But that's something i can do over time and just do a handfull at a time.

Thank you again for all your help. It is appreciated!

There's a separate script that does update ZCM polices.
/opt/novell/bin/zcm-migrate-print-policy.pl

Check that out. Due to zome ZCM issue, it was slow in update though, as
I understand.
