Pcounter and iPrint

Hi all

Server: NW6.0 SP2
Clients: Windows 2000 SP3 Client 483SP2
PCounter: 5.20e

When submitting a print job to a IPrint printer the job becomes held
with the error "USERNAME@00-10->TestIPP: (1 pages) Not enough print
credit! Job held." on the server console.

However if I print to this printer as a normal NDPS printer accounting

works fine.

The print job "owner name" for print jobs when using iPrint is
"USERNAME@00-10-DC-2C-CC-40" which i can only assume is the MAC
address of the PC that the print job was submitted from - when using
NDPS it is "USERNAME"

Can any one help

Thanks

Re: Pcounter and iPrint

Have you emailed pcounter support support@andtechnologies.com as they
are
very responsive to support questions?

Re: Pcounter and iPrint

I emailed pcounter support and got the following response, but I have
no idea what exactly he's referring to here. Anyone have any idea?

"Actually 5.20e will help if:

- users mount a volume on the NDPS server
- Pcounter is configured to lookup IP addresses in the connection
table

In this case you will probably be able to eliminate the SSL printing
because we can match the connection table IP address client to the IP
address of the print client."

Re: Pcounter and iPrint

In response to my question about how to configure pcounter to use the
connection table, here's Andy's response. I checked "Lookup user name
in map file" and in preliminary testing, it seems to work. Hope this
helps someone else.
