Port 9100 ?

Hi

I am trying to set up an IPrint printer located off-site. This has an
external IP address and the appropriate rules have been set up on the
firewall to allow this. I am able to ping the printer and telnet to it,
however, I cannot get rid of the " Gateway Not Bound to Printer Agent" error
message. If I try to add this as an IP printer, it says the device is not
found on the network, but I know it is on the network due to ping/telnet.

The gateway info is:

NDPSGW PORT=RAW HOSTADDRESS=10.x.x.x:9100

And the relevant drivers have been added.

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? Is there anything I may have
missed?

Cheers,
Chris

Re: Port 9100 ?

What NetWare versiona dn support pack are you using?
What tool are you using to create the printer?

Re: Port 9100 ?

Thanks for responding. I'm using Novell's Imanager to create the printer on
a netware 6.5 sp1 server.

I'm not usre the :9100 syntax was already supported in SP1. Did you type
that line by hand or how did you generate the gateway string?

Re: Port 9100 ?

I looked at an existing printer and copied it, and checked on the novell
site for the correct syntax. What are the alternatives?

Install the latest support pack for NW 6.5.

Raw printing support was only added in NW65SP2 and the ability to add a
port number was only included in NW65SP4
