Printer Driver Profile Replacement

Hello everyone, I am soliciting opnions on whether or not this is a good
idea and what pit falls I might run into if I did this.

The situation is that we have pushed out a printer with a printer driver
profile and we need to make a change to the printer settings on
workstations without deleting the printer on the desktop.

I sucessfully used snapshot to record the driver changes and pushed it out
the desktop using ZFD and it did fix the test printer. My test
machine/lab only has one printer to work with. My concern is what it will
do to users who have multiple printers installed in different orders.

Anyone tried this before and what was your outcome?

Chris

As an alternative, we could use ICM to remove and reinstall the printers
with the corrected printer driver profile assigned to the printer.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What I suggest is the following "trick". Rename the printers that have
their profile changed. This cuases the iPrint client to automatically
reinstalling these printers thus using the new profile.
