Printer driver deleted immediately after printer driver installation by remote printer management

I have a Windows 2000 Pro SP4 with Novell Client 4.9 SP2. The printer
drivers installed after the user login, but it will be deleted immediately
after a meanwhile. The system event log show "Printer xxxx is pending
deleted". And finally no network printer is installed on client side. I
tried to add the printer driver manaually by access NDPS Controlled
Printer, Windows alerted that it cannot locate the printer and cannot
download the printer driver, but it can shows the printer status is "Ready"
at add printer dialog. Any advice about this? Thanks.

Re: Printer driver deleted immediately after printer driver installation by remote printer management

What first comes to mind is an RPM configuration setting that lets you
specify that only printers listed in the 'Add printers to workstation'
list can exist on the workstation. If that is checked, but the printer
you install through Add Printer Wizard isn't on the 'Add' list, then
the printer will install, but later be deleted.

That's what first comes to mind, anyway.

What version of NetWare, including Support Pack, are you running?

Re: Printer driver deleted immediately after printer driver installationby remote printer management

More information provide...

Those network printers are also used by other users, who did not report
printer driver automaticlly deleted after installation.

I checked this problem may exist for v4.8x Client, but the user used
v4.9 SP2 client already

Re: Printer driver deleted immediately after printer driver installation by remote printer management

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Are you saying the problem is related to 4.8x client or 4.9/SP2? If
4.8x (as you put it) if it's an earlier release than 4.83/SP2, then I
recommend upgrading.
