Removing iPrint client 4.12 hangs on uninstall.

Hi Folks,

I'm not sure why this does this, but on some workstations, the uninstall "updates the spooler", then goes into the "removing files" stage, and just hangs. I can't even cancel or close the dialog box - a reboot is required, and it still appears in add/remove programs, so another manual add/remove is required, sometimes successful, sometimes not.

Suggestions?

I have not heard of any uninstall issues before. Can you tell me what OS
you are running on and what file it appears to hang on?

Re: Removing iPrint client 4.12 hangs on uninstall.

The times that I have seen this, there is a process that is still open that
is using the iPrint client or libraries. Look in the Windows Task Manager
- Processes and see if there is anything iprint related (iprntctl.exe,
etc..) If so, try to end that process and see what happens.

Basically the installer/uninstaller is attempting to restart the spooler,
but it is hanging for some reason. Also, try opening a dos box and typing
"NET STOP SPOOLER" At this point you might get an error on the
installer/uninstaller dialog. Then type "NET START SPOOLER" and if needed
uninstall the iprint client again...
