Slow NDPS Printing

Good morning,

We have been experiencing slow printing on and off with some of our
printers particularly the HP4050 printer. We are not using iPrint. We
are running OES Netware 6.5 SP6. When I print directly to the printer
via ip they is no delay in the printing. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Kathy

IS the slowness the time it takes to start printing, pr do big print jobs
take a long time printing (e.g. a long tiome betweent he first and the
last page)?
I suggest that if you keep an eye on the printer status in the NDPS
Manager ont he server will printing a document. See when the pritner
status changes compared to the printing on the workstation.

Hi Marcel,

The slowness is in the time it initially takes the print jobs to start
printing. They are less than a page in length.

I don't see any change from idle on the printer when I send the print
jobs.

The delay is less today then it was yesterday.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Kathy

It might be some issueat the workstation itself or a communication issue
between the workstation and the server. Is there any kind of firewall
between the workstation and the server or a client firewall on the
workstation itself?

Hi Marcel,

We don't have any firewalls enabled on the pcs and the print jobs don't
go through or external firewall.

Anything else I should be checking?

Thanks, Kathy
