Tracking Novell User activity from Windows IP printing

I am having a problem tracking Novell user id when individual an prints.

Current Scenario is that customer does not syncronize Windows Login with
Novell. They uses generic user for all workstations. When users print
from workstation Job logs on device show Windows "Generic" user not the
Novell login. Any ideas on haw to capture this information? I was told
there is a 3rd party app that allows this but no one seems to remember it.

Re: Tracking Novell User activity from Windows IP printing

I am pretty sure later versions of the iPrint client 'capture' the
Novell client login details assuming that the workstations have the
Novell netware client installed and that the user is logged using the
Novell netware client.

Re: Tracking Novell User activity from Windows IP printing

You could require authentication on the printer and force them to put in
their username and password once.

Currently we use this for printing from students laptops on their network
through to our lab printing system where they get charged for printing as if
they were printing from one of our managed desktops.

We have no control over the students laptops and they could have any
username or any configuration but this way the jobs come through to the
print stations with the students username and they can then log in to the
print station and retrieve the job.

Cheers
Mark
