Unable to add driver to store Xerox Altalink B8055

I've been trying to upload a driver to the store for a couple hours now and now i think i will need some external help.

I have tried:

- Global Print driver
- Specific Driver
- Tried uploading via Internet Explorer and via iprntcmd.

I get a confirmation that the driver was uploaded to the store, but when i try to :

- Create a profile
- Install the printer without the profile

i get an error...
Remote procedure call error from iprint and i noticed that the spooler is stopped.

I tried with iPrint version 6.09 or 6.15.

Any idea how to inject driver into the driver store another way ?

I typically use the iprntcmd procedure and can't remember the last
time I had problems with it. Your comment about the spooler stopping
has me wondering... Are you setting the printer up as an iPrint
Direct printer? If so, you need the latest iprint client which is
6.16.03.

Also, I typically open a cmd window using Run As Administrator and
execute iprntcmd in that. Don't know if it is still necessary or if
that is just a hold-over in my procedure from the past. But worth a
try.

I have used Xerox drivers in the past without issues. But if all else
fails, see if you can find another driver that is compatible.
Sometimes there are options for PCL or Postscript. One might work
better than the other.

Re: Unable to add driver to store Xerox Altalink B8055

We found out that a Microsoft Application might be conflicting with iPrint...

If we delete the following registry key (it also remove the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer virtual printer):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3\Microsoft Office Document Image Writer Driver

Then installing the printer or uploading drivers operations start working again.

Note : This virtual printer is part of the Microsoft Office Document Imaging application that we use for TIF files. ( We install this with Sharepoint Designer 2007 https://www.microsoft.com/fr-ca/download/details.aspx?id=21581 )

So it seems that iPrint have problems when this virtual tif printer is there...

If we install the drivers locally bypassing iPrint then we don't have the problems...

What was happening :
spoolsv.exe crash with an 1000 event id...
