Windows 10 not showing as driver platform option in iManager

Hi,

Under iManager -> iPrint -> Manage Driver Store -> Drivers tab, the Drivers Platform drop down list only displays versions of Windows up to Windows 8.1.

How can we get Windows 10 as an available option?

The iPrint client for Windows 10 is available on the servers web page under the Client Software tab.

It is running on OES 11 SP2.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Do you have the latest iManager iPrint plugins installed (the available
plugins page doesn't list anything)? Have you restarted Tomcat since
installing all the latest iPrint & iManager updates?

Re: Windows 10 not showing as driver platform option in iMan

I did not restart Tomcat 😞

After restarting it, the Windows 10 option did appear.

Thank you very much for the help.

However, I now have another issue:

When I select "Add From File" or "Add From System", the following message appears:
"Uploading resources to the Driver Store from this operating system is not currently supported."

This was performed in Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10 Pro.

Are you running the iPrint 6.x client on your Windows 10 machine? Are
you running IE as an administrator?

Re: Windows 10 not showing as driver platform option in iMan

Internet Explorer is running as Administrator.

The iPrint client version is 06.02.00.

Re: Windows 10 not showing as driver platform option in iMan

This could be problem related to IE cache. Could you please try cleaning browser cache (including history & cookies) and try again.

Re: Windows 10 not showing as driver platform option in iManager

Same here.

Everything looks ok and works - except uploading W10 drivers to the store.
"Uploading resources to the Driver Store from this operating system
is not currently supported."

Maybe something went wrong during the 418 patch installation?

Georg

BTW, It does works on the same machine against the iPrint 2.0 beta
appliance.

Since you referenced the iPrint Appliance and Patch 3 (417 & 418)
perhaps TID 7016940[1] will help.

HTH.

Re: Windows 10 not showing as driver platform option in iManager

I already looked at this TID.

The 'Situation' does not match:
No DVD repository, client download is correct version, menu entries do show
Windows 10.
Instead: Driver upload under Windows 10 does not work.

However, maybe there are other circumstances where the 418 patch install is
not completely successful and a reinstall is required?

Georg

PS: BTW, the english-version of the imanager plugins does show Windows 10 as
a platform. Switching to the german page (browser preference) has the 'old'
Windows 8.x text only.

Re: Windows 10 not showing as driver platform option in iManager

Hi!

Sorry, i didn't mention this aspect.
iprntcmd does work.

Actually i am doing almost all management tasks from the commandline with
iprntcmd.
Otherwise this problem would be a much bigger issue. 🙂

iprntcmd always works, but the browser based management fails on every a
little bit more challanging task.
e.g. upload huge printer/plotter drivers (browser fails, timeout, etc.)
iprntcmd does the job, Prior to the 6.x iprint client with the 5.x iprint
plugin there were severe limitations on the actual browser version/OS
combination. iprntcmd was the easy and fast (and working!) solution.

So it is just a problem with the iManager stuff (or browser compatibility).

I can do everything what is required with iprntcmd and successfully deploy
iPrint printers to W10 workstations.

I can get this kind of errors if IE has the activeX filtering enable but
just to be sure, can you just type this on the server console:

# cat /var/opt/novell/iprint/htdocs/scripts/iprint.js |grep 20150630

and paste the results here
