citrix conflicts with iprint printers that are offline

Hi there

We are using iPrint here in our office, as well as our offices in India.
For SOME users we have problems when they access the citrix from the
WAN. All are running Windoes XP SP3.

When they are on the WAN they can of course not communicate with the
iPrint-printers (the printer will show 'Not available', and then the
citrix hangs when it tries to map the default printer.

We don't see a problem when the printers are created as standard IP
printers, only the iPrint printers.
If the user is on the LAN, the iPrint printers can communicate and will
then log in properly.

The iPrint client is version 4.38.

Hi,

same problem for me. If the workstation with the citrix-client can't communicate with the iPrint-Server login hangs for long time sometimes up to20 minutes after that no printers (local-printers USB/LPT too) maped to the citrix-client. We don't have the iPrint-Client installed on the Citrix-Server and use a Windows Citrix-Policy to map all installed Workstation-Printers to the Citrix-Session. It only happens to iPrint-Printer. No problems with Windows standard IP-Printers. No problems if workstations can contact the iPrint-Server.

Windows-Server 2003, Citrix Metaframe 4.5
NetWare 6.5-Sp5, iPrint
Windows XP-Sp3/2, iPrint Client 4.38

Thank You for any ideas

Problem weems to go away when you activate the iprint proxy. we turn this
on/off with a simple script that checks in which ip network the workstation
is. i.e. if ist in the same network where the iprint printers are, turn the
proxy off, if not turn it on. reg key entry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Novell-iPrint]
"Proxy Settings"=dword:00010001
