iPrint Authentication

Hi,

I have several printers installed using iPrint. But users are able to
fire the job without login to NSD. How is it possible for users not to
fire any print job unless he/she is logged into the server. This is
necessary as we have given these printers to our students.

What have you set your printer security to? See:

Re: iPrint Authentication

Hi, I have enable Secure Printing check box through iManager. But after
enabling this and giving print command without login to eDirectory,
system hangs. Even I am not able to install printer.

ok. Then I suggest at least Sp5 + NW65SP5UPD1 + N65NSS5B

I am not saying that it will fix the issue, but it gives us a better
platform to start from.

OK. But this is with the printer set as non-secure, right. Now,
initially you said:

"Hi, I have enable Secure Printing check box through iManager. But
after enabling this and giving print command without login to
eDirectory, system hangs. Even I am not able to install printer. "

Is this still the case? Ie if you set security to high on an existing
printer and print to it, does it accept jobs if you are logged in and
not if you are not logged in?

Re: iPrint Authentication

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. No, now the problem is that whenever user wants
to give a print command it asks for the user id and password to
authenticare. After giving correct user id and password, it says
authentication failed and does not allow user to give print command.
