iPrint and location-based printing. Creating lists.

Hi there.

I started to wonder how to make simple location based printer lists.
Because documentation is pretty much useless to me I looked at
example-files located at /ippdocs/examples. It seems that I'm lacking
some of the files there (those .htm -files that should be in
..../example(1/2)/images). Any idea where to look at those?

Also any hints how to make those printer lists? My department have here
about seven buildings and around 100 printers.

Note: I'm not a coder or web-designer. Keep it simple, please.

A simple list would be the default page. If you want just the list and
not the heading, etc. Try using just the url that defines the list.

The default page is basically a frame set defined in
sys:/apache2/htdocs/ippdocs/pcontrol.htm. The two frames defined are
ippdocs/header.htm and ipp/pdisplay.htm.

Try typing each of these in your brower address bar (ie.
http://<server_address_or_dns_name>/ippdocs/header.htm or
http://<server_address_or_dns_name>/ipp/pdisplay.htm)

You will see that the pdisplay URL gives you the simple list. Using
this, you could create a simple list of 7 links for each building. THat
link going to the simple list...

That's too simple. Default list (single manager) shows nearly 100
printers. I would like to show only few/floor/building. There is no
example of how to do that. I could of course just create "map" for each
building and then strip it down using some web-editor to what I really
need, but that sounds strange way of doing things.

iPrint printer list designer? That would be nice.

Hmmm...did simple list once I learned from mapdesigner result code how
to do that. That looked like very simple task.

Now I have two problems.

1) once printer is installed page never returns back to list.
2) for some unknown reason printing virtual server doesn't see that list
(gives 404), but node hosting it does. I can't understand why.

Solving 2) probably solves 1).

Problem is same with files created with maptool too, so this is not
something I did.

Small correction. IE seems to return just nicely, FireFox doesn't.
Second problem is with both browsers.
