iPrint printer will not uninstall W10
I have a Windows 10 Pro laptop running a fully patched 1809 OS on Intel i5 64bit with 8GB RAM. The iPrint client version installed is 6.19. Our iPrint Appliance is running as a fully patched version 4.
The problem we are experiencing is the inability to reinstall the printer. We get the message that it is already installed. When you view the installed printers displayed within Windows Printer Folder, the printer in question is not installed. So, the next step was to use Windows PowerShell (Admin) to execute the commands printui /s /t2 to display a menu of installed printer drivers. The printer in question is not listed. We then use the command iprntcmd -l to list the installed printers and it then displays the printer we want to install but fails to install since it is already there. Well, we then execute the command iprntcmd -t for a test page and it works. So, our next step was to execute iprntmcd -d to delete the printer. It states that the printer has been removed. To confirm it was gone, we issue iprntcmd -l again and it is listed once again. We used these steps on a different printer and it worked as one would expect. Therefore, it is the one printer that will not cooperate in uninstalling so it can be reinstalled and function like all other iPrint printers. By the way, we did restart the W10 laptop after uninstalling via commands.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance for the assistance!
Re: iPrint printer will not uninstall W10
The issue turned out to be a Microsoft connection to the printer within the registry. All registry connections referencing iPrint were removed. Once we removed the MS registry setting referencing the printer, iPrint was able to reinstall it. Thanks for your help!
