iprint on port 80

Can anyone explain this? I have a wireless network locked down to allow
only traffic coming through ports 80 and 443. When someone tries my iPrint
page, it will load the iprint client and see the printers, but it will not
allow the installation of a printer. Does that come across a different
port?

Re: iprint on port 80

iPrint uses the IPP protocol for printing and this is on port 631 by
default.
What you could do is enable secure printing, and this causes iPrint to use
https (port 443) instead.

Re: iprint on port 80

Installation is still by the default port, and not IPP, or ????

iprint on port 80

iPrint uses port 631 for all requests. With Apache and TLS support in
NW65SP3/OES the iPrint client started communicating all requests to the
server on port 631 for both secure and non-secure printers. Secure
printing is provided via TLS upgrade to get the SSL encryption). So you
must have 631 open.
