Has anyone applied this yet to resolve NDPS Gateway abends or other
problems? We are applying it this weekend.

Well, the gateway abend problem has been fixed in one of the first NDPSGW
updates after SP6. I'm not aware that there were remaining abend issues
after that.
As for the SP6e patch, I installed it on a couple of servers, and so far
it seems to work. I must however say that I was not suffering from the LPR
communication problem that existed in previous post SP6 patches. So I
don't know if that issue is reliably fixed.

Re: iprntnw65sp6e

Yes I used it till yesterday and am now back to the Sp5 NDPSGW. Abends
and server utilisation o.k. but still issues with LPR printers
especially if you are sending several print jobs within a short
time-frame like printing a batch of documents with one single command.
And all users complained about it being much slower than the old
gateway.

Re: iprntnw65sp6e

The NDPSGW.NLM still causes abends on our servers, just like the
iprntnw65sp5c still deleted printers off of workstations in our
environment. Just an FYI.

Re: iprntnw65sp6e

It fixed my LPR issues. But I have been having the issues since October and
was beta testing for them since then. I was having abends and high
utilization problems even before SP6. But I was using beta gateways. Only
LPR issues since sp6 and only with the cheap low end MIO cards that came
with the HP 1300's. I never had a problem with the JetDirect 6xx cards. But
for me all is good now.

Re: iprntnw65sp6e

I applied it a couple of weeks ago.
It resolved my LPR and Not Bound problems
and has not created any new problems.
I was not experiencing abends or high utilization.

We have mostly HP Laserjet 4000 and above.
