mass creation of iprint printers

Hi folks,

is there a way to create iprint printers without using the imanager?
I have to create more than 200 printers and dont like this to do by hand.

Is there a script, tool or something else to create printers automatically?

How for your ideas.
Regards

Re: mass creation of iprint printers

Realy a nice tool. tested it with 2 printers and it work fine.
Poorly I can not set users/operators, location and description.
This would have been a nice feature because the printers I have to create
belonging to about 10 different branches and have lots of different
usergroup with rights for printing or operating.

I'm in somewhat the same boat but I did discover that you can feed ACLs back to the newly created printers using an LDIF file and the ICE tool from Consoleone or any other LDAP Import/Export tool. That will give you the users and operators.

However since L: and DESCRIPTION: don't exist in the printer unless they are populated so LDIF Modify and Replace don't work because they can't find an attribute to replace or modify. I have someone working on that part right now.

Oops, I goofed. You can also use an LDIF file to add the L and Description attributes.

If you need instructions or syntax let me know.
