Re: move agent from one manager to another

Moving PAs to another NDPS Manager:
-----------------------------------
You can move Printer Agents from one PSM to another with iManager.
Requirements are that the hosting NDPS Managers must be in the same tree.

To Move:
In iManager / iPrint tasks / Manage NDPS Manager
Select the Printer Agents Tab
Select the tasks option just below the tab.
You should see a Move button.
Select the PA that you want to move and then click the Move button.
Follow remaining prompts to move.

Moving drivers to other brokers:
--------------------------------
You can copy the driver directory from one server to another server hosting
a different Broker. Shut down the target Broker and restart, When the
Broker restarts it will find the new driver and it will be available for
printers. If another driver of the same name is already on the target
Broker the Broker will use the first one that it finds and then delete the
other one. When copying drivers be sure to copy then into the same platform
directory. ( Win2k -> Win2k )

Re: move agent from one manager to another

thanks for the help. I found the move agent feature right after I posted my
question but the whole issue is actually moot because my iPrint never allows
me to assign drivers ad hoc. That is, I'd better set them up when I create
the printer or I'll have to delete and start over. Any idea what to do
about this?

Re: move agent from one manager to another

You don't really have to shut down the Broker... Just shut down the RMS
(Resource Management Service)

Re: move agent from one manager to another

Not sure what is meant here. What behavior are you seeing with the
drivers??

Re: move agent from one manager to another

For some reason this "move" functionality is gone on a brand new NW 6.5sp4a
install.
Any idea why that would be?
