strange behavior on NDPS printers after update to nw65sp6
Hi,
2 days ago we updated our printservers to NW65SP6.
Since then all of our CANON printers can't print. We solved this by changing
the
init string to PORT=RAW HOSTADDRESS=xx.xx.xx.xx.
Now we have some lable printers attached to hp 170x print boxes which only
prints blank pages.
Can someone help please.
Regards,
Dirk
P.S.
here our environment:
NW65SP6 + iprntw65sp6g

NetWare 6.5 SP6 started with a rather poor implementation of iPrint; the gateway was especially bad. Novell has released two service packs for iPrint on SP6 (the downloads are iprntnw65sp6f & iprntnw65sp6g). Apply both of these packs (in order) and you should see a pretty significant increase in stability and usability.

As I wrote in my post I still have installed the iprntw65sp6g package which
superceeded the ...f package.
Do I need to install the old ...f package before the ...g package?
I still have the problem, that some printers looses the lpr communication
and when it will print only blank pages come out.

Heyo,
did you try the waitonprinter-feature implemented in g-patch?
I had to use it for some specific printers as those seemed to timeout LPR
comm while busy.
